This is the story of 4 South African men that disappeared while working in Iraq.
They all had some experience in either the South African Police or Regular army and was doing security jobs of a nonmilitary nature. Their main job was to protect contract workers, VIP's or other people and installations vital to repair the damages that war brought to the Iraqi people.
They left their respective jobs in South Africa because of many reasons.
-The low enumeration paid by their employers,
- No prospect of promotion,
- Discrimination against their race and color,
were but a few of the reasons why they looked for employment elsewhere. Individually, they held other positions before accepting employment that would ultimately land them in Iraq.
Basically, they are ordinary men who just wanted to earn a living to look after themselves and their families.
On the 10th of December 2006 they were stopped at a police check point near Al-Shaab mall in Baghdad, abducted at gunpoint and are missing ever since.
